ACDS WESTCHESTER
ACDS opened their very first preschool in Scarsdale in September 2016 to meet the need for high quality early childhood services in Westchester County. Since our opening, our enrollment has grown from 24 to 160 students.
Preschool Services:
Our Westchester full-day preschool program is designed to individually meet the needs of our students. Our curriculum encompasses a full behavior analysist approach using a play-based and/or Naturalistic Environment Teaching (NET) model. Research shows that the principals and methods of behavior analysis have been applied effectively in many circumstances to develop a wide range of skills in learners with and without disabilities. A “best practice” approach is used to ensure each student is receiving a level of education that they currently need. Additionally our setting allows for optimal learning by including SMART Boards, a large sensory play space, age-appropriate classroom layouts and a state-of-the-art playground. In addition, we have a Positive Intervention Behavior Support (PBIS) program for the school as a whole, and in each of our classrooms, as well as a full time Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
In addition to our rich preschool curriculum, each student receives related services including speech, OT, PT, counseling and parent counseling and training, as per their Individualized Education Program.
The program offers a full sensory gym and a Merlin’s Magical Space through a collaboration with Merlin’s Magic Wand Foundation and LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester. This stunning room was designed for the development of age appropriate fine motor skills.
Enrichment programs such as Music and Art Therapy are provided as part of our preschool program.
Our comprehensive parent training program is available to all parents. This includes an evidence-based Mindfulness Stress Based Reduction (MSBR) group, specifically geared to the particular needs of being a preschool parent.

ACDS WESTCHESTER - Center-Based Program
We provide high quality center-based services for eligible preschool students throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.
We serve students in Self-contained 8:1:2 or 12:1:2 classes who are recommended to receive such placement by their local school district's CPSE.

ACDS WESTCHESTER – Evaluations
We are a full-service preschool evaluation site with certified staff who can provide psychological, psychosocial, speech, occupational and physical therapy evaluations.

ACDS WESTCHESTER – Related Services
We provide related services for non-ACDS preschool students throughout Westchester at our state-of-the-art facility. These include OT and PT in our sensory gym, speech, counseling for preschool students and parent training and counseling for their parents.
