Donate to ACDS.org Now!

HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE MANY WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN HELP ACDS FURTHER OUR MISSION OF HELPING CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES: Donate Online Now!

Major Giving Opportunities
For information about making a major donation to ACDS, please contact Leslie Granger at (516) 933-4700 ext. 111 or email lgranger@acds.org

CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP
A company’s reputation for supporting causes is important well beyond the holiday season. Nearly nine in ten Americans said they are likely to consider a company’s reputation for addressing social issues when shopping throughout the year. This overwhelming support of companies that stand for more than the bottom-line demonstrates that Americans want companies to make long-term and comprehensive commitments to social issues.

Matching Gifts
Many companies encourage philanthropic interest among their employees by offering a matching gift program. Contact your company's Human Resources department to determine if your employer matches gifts to the ACDS. This is an easy and effective way to double or even triple your contribution to ACDS.  For more information, please contact Kristen Molyneaux at (516) 933-4700 ext. 124 or kmolyneaux@acds.org

GRANTS
The ACDS Development staff is available to complete letters of inquiry, funding proposals, and grant applications, and to provide financial and other supporting materials required to fulfill your grant distribution requirements. They can also discuss potential opportunities for support among the diverse program areas at ACDS.  Foundations and corporations interested in making unrestricted or restricted grants to ACDS should contact Leslie Granger, Director of Development at (516) 933-4700 ext 111 or at lgranger@acds.org.

Gifts of Stock
Donating a highly appreciated asset to ACDS may allow you to avoid a significant portion of your tax liability while still receiving a charitable contribution deduction.

For example, if you donate a long-term appreciated asset such as stock to ACDS, you are generally entitled to an income tax deduction for the current fair market value of that asset, no matter what your original cost. Additionally, all capital gains taxes that were due would be avoided. However, to take a deduction for gifts of securities at their current value, you must have owned them for one year and a day. The asset you donate is usually removed from your taxable estate, which means an additional tax savings for your heirs.

The gift of an appreciated asset is a powerful way to support ACDS. While this giving strategy has many obvious benefits, no doubt the most important is the satisfaction of knowing that your support helps advance the important work of ACDS. Please contact Leslie Granger at ext. 111 for more information.

Donor Advised Funds
If you have established a donor advised fund, it may be possible to recommend a charity to receive all or part of the assets remaining in the fund after your lifetime. You can name ACDS as the beneficiary for part or all of these assets. For more information, please contact Leslie Granger at ext. 111.

Gifts in Kind
The acceptance of personal property and closely held stocks will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Please call Leslie Granger for more information at (516) 933-4700 ext. 111.
